We Don't Need A Beer - A Response in Song to Government Corruption

Is the Ford Government Corrupt?

Recently Bonnie Crombie, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, accused Doug Ford of corruption. In the clip above she states:

"This is a government that does not want to get any work done and doesn't want to be held to account because guess what? This is a corrupt government. This is a corrupt premier."

When questioned on her wording, Crombie doubled down. She states:

"It's not the first time I've called him that."

And she is correct. Here is link to a previous time she called the government corrupt.

Obviously, I am biased. I found corruption in the Ford government years ago. When I reported the corruption to senior management, they had me fired.

My friend Angie recommended I put my experience in song. So here it is, my original song "We Don't Need A Beer." An anti corruption anthem.

If you're against government corruption, send this to your government officials.

CHORUS:
Enough’s enough
We’re sick and tired of all of your
Corruption
We see the truth
We are not slaves
And we won’t behave
Can you hear me now?

You break laws
And make your friend’s rich while
Children starve
We see the truth
You are not a king
Hear the people sing
We don’t need a beer

VERSE ONE:
Okay let’s talk about the government
More specifically about how our money’s spent
Sending funds overseas
To kill children in the streets
And we can’t afford to eat
And a home’s a luxury
I once fucked with the government
Found corruption and they tried to buy silence
But it’s pretty clear to see
That you cannot buy me
It’s time to fix the problem
So

CHORUS TWO:
Enough is enough
We’re sick and tired of all of your
Corruption
We see the truth
We are not slaves
And we're not afraid
Can you hear me now?

You break laws
And make your friend’s rich while
Children starve
We see the truth
You are not a king
Let the people sing
We don’t need a beer

VERSE TWO
Underspending on disability
3.7 billion less for families
1.7 billion less for the hospitals
But there's funds for the owners of the capital
What's all the savings for
Well, your local corner store
So you can drink 'til you are numb
So you'll forget what they've done
Cuz it's pretty clear to see
That they don't work for we
And it's time to hold them accountable
So

CHORUS THREE:
Enough is enough
We’re sick and tired of all of your
Corruption
We see the truth
We are not slaves
And we're not afraid
Can you hear me now

Sticks and Stones
May Break My Bones
But all your lies
Cost me my home
Are you insane?
We're going down the drain
We don't need a beer.
